Something Wrong with the Picture?

Notice anything wrong with this picture?

It looks like the guy's head to too big but actually the cars are too small. What do we know about S&P that would help explaing this?

Funny! Initially I thought it was photo-shopped, but then (before I scrolled down) I thought of the models I had seen in places like the Cedar Falls Historical museum (basement level) and a number of other museums in the states. I scrolled down to comment, and then saw the second picture - sure enough it was a model. The one thing I didn't consider (inattentional blindness!) was how the trees are actually the right size for the small scene/photo-shopped person, not the (actual) large person/small model - so I should have assumed it was photo-shopped, and was probably primed from class materials to assume another explanation was possible, because if I would of thought about the trees, I would have either had to return to my original photo-shopped hypothesis, or solved this dilemma by assuming that the illusion of distance favored the trick to make it appear less obvious.
In any case, fun process to consider!

In class we saw a similar phenomena where the two women were sitting in a hallway and the lady closest to us was a lot larger than the women sitting in the back ground and when you bring the lady in the background closer she is actually smaller than we presume, which is our brain tricking us into thinking the two women might be the same size because they looked of normal size but one was just off in the distance. Our brain has a lot of ways into tricking us with us not even realizing it. Furthermore, this guys head is obviously photo shopped to be larger and to make the cars look smaller to fool us.
