Discriminitive Stimulus - Traffic Light Prank

This prank really give you the idea of how much our behaviors are under the control of the discriminative stimulus (the traffic light).

This was way funny. I don't really know why the guy needed to be in a wolf costume? Ha, these guys are definitely using a discriminative stimulus to their comedic advantage.

I remember seeing this on TV a long time ago. I do think it is pretty funny. It does show us that even though people know something is not right, they are still really influenced by discriminative stimulus.

This shows that our behavior to a traffic light is controlled by a discriminitive stimulus. It the same for the no passing lines or the stop and yield signs. I also see it as a reinforcer. Because when the light is green we are reinforced by being able to keep driving. Great prank though!

This video is pretty funny, it shows just how much we are hardwired and have learned to behave in a normative way. In most normal circumstances we are driving and approach a red light, We stop because that's what we have learned to do, and we are reinforced by not getting in trouble by the law and/or not getting into a vehicular accident. Because we have learned to behave this way by being reinforced each time (or have been punished by getting into an accident or receiving a ticket), we will usually behave in the same way when approaching a stop light, even if it is acting in a peculiar way because we are afraid of being punished because we know the potential consequences.

I remember seeing this video on TV, I thought it was super funny. The stop lights act as a discriminative stimulus which informs people to stop to prevent getting in an accident or receiving a ticket, and also acts as a reinforcer when the light turns green which allows the driver to continue driving.

It thought this was funny but all the laughing kind of freaked me out. The wolf guy had an evil laugh. Anyways, it is really interesting how we are so conformed to follow the rules that are delegated by the police and the law. The lights acted as a discriminative stimulus to the car drivers to tell them to stop when the light was red and go when the light was green. By the wolf guy changing the lights, the driver sees it as very adversive and goes through an extinction burst and eventually just breaks the law and goes through the red light.

This video is funny, but sort of weird how they wear the costumes. The stop light is the discriminative stimuls, letting us know when we can stop, slow down, or go.
